Mapmechanics - Met Office. The UK Met Office is using NAVTEQ map data supplied by MapMechanics as a key component in the trials for a new route-based weather forecasting system. For many years the Met Office has provided specialist weather forecasts and advice to local authorities and trunk road operators responsible for winter road maintenance. Accurately forecasting road surface temperature and wintry conditions helps road engineers to plan when to salt the roads to prevent ice forming; grit to make surfaces safer; or deploy ploughs to clear snow.
Advantis - BAER/Brisa (Web enabled GIS). Brisa Access Electronica Rodoviaria (BAER) - a subsidiary of Portuguese highway operator, Brisa - develops and maintains electronic collection systems that allow payments to be made at Galp petrol stations, give access to urban and historical centers and car parks, and manage vehicle loading and dispatch. A telematics solution from systems integrator Advantis, enhanced by the greater coverage provided by NAVTEQ maps, has improved customer service and reduced fleet costs.
Ideal Service - Tellus. IdealService needed to define and manage the collection of 18,000 recycling bins, using a GIS system supported by precise and detailed cartography. Tellus selected SATfinder - an application forming part of the Ecology ECOfinder suite, because an application for Palm is integrated and the PDA comes with maps from NAVTEQ. The application led to faster collection, increased efficiency, transparent reporting and continuous improvement.
Mapmechanics - Peugeot. Peugeot has streamlined its UK dealer catchment planning and improved dealers' targeting of customers and their performance analysis with MapMechanics' GeoConcept Expert, the powerful PC-based GIS and map data from NAVTEQ.

Geomarketing Applications
CACI - A&S Constabulary. A market analysis tool and consumer classification system (Insite) supplied by information solutions experts CACI enable Avon and Somerset Constabulary to understand local socio-economic groups and target communication and resources for two burglary reduction schemes more effectively.
GeoConcept - Crédit Mutuel. Crédit Mutuel Sud Europe Méditerranée (CMSEM) has chosen a GeoConcept solution using NAVTEQ data to set up new sales outlets within its territory and develop its client base. The use of GeoConcept technology adds a predictive dimension to analyses that can be used to obtain highly optimized simulations of the creation of new sales outlets, and to obtain accurate estimates of potential turnover in different areas.
ESRI (UK) - Experian. By incorporating world-class GIS software from ESRI (UK) with its new data retrieval engine and global data catalog. Experian delivered a significantly improved version of its MicromarketerG3 geomarketing software. This was delivered at lower cost, with improved functionality and greater efficiency.
MapCreator. To develop a solution for cartographic and directory publishers and direct marketing companies designed to save both time and money on the production process and provide a commercial competitive edge. When outputting from a geographic database environment, the key was to provide a solution which supports rapid image definition and automatic generation of top quality output. A MapCreator software suite featuring NAVTEQ® maps is helping to automate the production of cartographic products in a wide range of scales and volumes; and hence optimize the associated costs.

APC - Geoconcept. APC by Schneider Electric has chosen GeoConcept - a leading provider of cartographical optimization technologies for professional users - and the NAVTEQ® maps to equip its customer service department with a powerful scheduling tool. As a leading company in energy efficiency related services, APC by Schneider Electric (the combination of APC & MGE) must be able to provide customers with round-the-clock assistance without compromising on quality.
Paragon - Harrods. Paragon's automated route scheduling & optimisation solution, together with its Fleet Controller software and NAVTEQ street mapping, has sped up the famous London store 'Harrods' planning, improved its vehicle use, reduced courier costs and given it total control of its delivery service.
Magellan - Sodexho. (PDF, 286KB) La Normande, a subsidiary of the Sodexho group, produces and distributes ready-made meals to both private and public sector organizations. Sodexho's subsidiary La Normande uses NAVTEQ data in association with Magellan Ingenierie's routing optimization software to distribute hot and cold meals daily to its 560 clients.
ORTEC - Coca Cola Enterprises. The award winning Vehicle Routing and Dispatch software solutions from ORTEC, enhanced by accurate NAVTEQ data - saves Coca-Cola Enterprises $45 million a year by improving the effectiveness of its daily dispatch (planning efficient delivery routes, improving the accuracy for delivery, enabling the ability to make analytical decisions).
Descarte - Ocado. The Descartes Systems Group Inc. is a respected provider of logistics management technology. Descartes' leading logistics solutions drive operational efficiency, enhance customer service and improve purchasing precision for organizations in over 60 countries worldwide. The company offers 24/7 international customer support, has 35 reseller partnerships and offices and distributors throughout the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
ALK CoPilot. United Fleet Distribution, the UK’s leading ‘trade plate delivery’ company, has 250 drivers conducting 100,000 vehicle movements each year for large fleet owners. It wanted to find a mobile technology that could improve driver efficiency, streamline processes and reduce the reliance on paper for data collection and customer reporting. When UK company United Fleet Distribution integrated ALK Technologies’ CoPilot satellite navigation software with NAVTEQ® maps, into its driver mobility solution, its drivers’ productivity increased 33 per cent in six months.

Cybit. The UK's Highways Agency will be better able to keep England's strategic highway network free from snow and ice in winter after choosing in-vehicle data logging services from Cybit that use NAVTEQ® maps. The Highways Agency operates, maintains and improves the strategic road network in England on behalf of the UK government. It owns and manages a fleet of over 400 winter service vehicles, that keep England’s strategic highway network free from snow and ice in winter.
Minorplanet - Letterbox. Route guidance and vehicle tracking. A Vehicle Management Information (VMI) system, based on NAVTEQ maps, from Minorplanet which has added value to the business operations of UK company Letterbox Distribution, improved turnover and delivered real cost savings.
ALK - NI Wildlife. Moblile phone base CoPilot Live enables drivers to plan their day and get to pickups more quickly and efficiently. FleetCenter online tracking enables the controller to oversee the position of all ambulances and send new pickups directly to the driver's device, thereby simplifying Wildlife NI's response to appointments.
Trakm8 - Ellison Coaches. A vehicle tracking platform from aftermarket vehicle telematics supplier Trakm8 has eased drivers' workload, saved time, increased productivity and improved service levels for Ellison's Travel Services - the UK's premier corporate hospitality coach company, providing luxury coaches and limos for the likes of Liverpool Football Club and England's rugby team.
Trakm8 - M&M Gas. A Northern Ireland refrigeration and gas engineering company wanted to be able to track its vehicles effectively and provide clients with a better service. The Trakm8 SWIFT solution combines hardware, software and service access and includes comprehensive mapping from NAVTEQ which give the customer maximum efficiency of delivery routes and rich attribution to enable precise positioning of vehicles.
France Telecom - Gefco. GEFCO, which handles 52,000 shipments each day, needed a low-cost, ready-to-use solution to track goods and its vehicles across Europe from Portugal to Turkey. Provided directly by Orange Business Services, it uses the ASP Fleet solutions of Data&Mobiles and Siemens WM - featuring NAVTEQ European maps. It's the first time a Telecom operator has sold an all-inclusive fleet management solution.
Novasys - ELVIA. Novatrack - Novasys' tracking, tracing and dispatching service, using up-to-date NAVTEQ map content - speeds up ELVIA's rescue service and makes invoicing more efficient. The sophisticated system, which can be installed as a client server or web-based solution, uses the Novasys Maponair mapping and routing platform, which optimizes and calculates itineraries and visualises mobile and fixed actors on a full European map from NAVTEQ.

ALK - Severn Trent. A mobile solution which has improved the way Severn Trent Metering Services manage job scheduling, general communication and productivity of its mobile workforce. Using CoPilot Live FleetCenter web-based management application.
Mapmechanics - Lowri Beck. 'Truckstops' - a leading routing and scheduling system from MapMechanics, which uses regularly updated and verified NAVTEQ maps, has resulted in huge business savings for Lowri Beck Services, Britain's longest established independent specialist in the field of meter-reading (which handles meter reading for many well-known electricity, gas and water suppliers).
Logiball - Bayern Gas. Bayerngas, the biggest communal supplier of gas in Germany, needed a navigation map that would get a service employee to a locality swiftly and accurately. With enhanced digital map data from NAVTEQ and a navigation platform from NAVIGON, leading map software engineers LOGIBALL met their needs with Germany Plus.

Transvision - Statoil. A state-of-the-art transportation planning solution from Danish software developer Transvision - that's enhanced by digital mapping from NAVTEQ - has dramatically improved the Statoil Group's effectiveness and its customer service in the Scandinavian fuel oil and gasoline retail market. Transvision's solution optimizes orders, delivery requests and operational status fed to it by Statoil's ERP system, SAP, and submits changes to the tour lists to the truck's on-board computers
ALK - Drive Assist. UK car leasing company Drive Assist has met its business growth targets thanks to TaskMaster®, a field mobility solution that freed up its fleet by 15 per cent or 2,000 cars - without loss of efficiency or service. The solution enhanced workflow processes, including reducing paperwork and drivers' delivery mileage. The solution is so effective that savings of 3.6 million miles a year are predicted.
ALK - Tesco. The UK's leading online retailer, Tesco.com has improved its customers' shopping experience by implementing an integrated navigation solution that gets home deliveries to them even more quickly and accurately.
Punch Telematix - DEVOS. Belgian fuel suppliers De Vos Mazout wanted faster, more accurate delivery and the ability to collect invoices on the spot and notify customers if a truck was running late. Telematics service provider Punch Telematix delivered all three aims by integrating top navigation technology with high-quality software and accurate maps from the noted digital mapping leader NAVTEQ
Maporama - eAbsolu. Mobility systems publisher eABSolu (Advanced Business Solutions) is making it easier for 1,400 home-help workers across France to locate their clients directly on their PDA phone GPS using the onboard navigation system, Maporama Drive Me.

Elda - Carabinieri. The Arma dei Carabinieri has national and local patrol units. They needed to be able to exchange emergency information quickly and precisely to optimise allocation of their human resources. The Arma dei Carabinieri uses Divitech's tracking solution powered by NAVTEQ maps and based on in-car GPS navigation systems. This sophisticated tool allows tracking and communication to enable control centers to send details of emergency situations to the right patrol unit, in the right area at the right time.
Carmenta - SOS Alarm. SOS Alarm, a public service enterprise responsible for handling emergency calls and coordinating rescue work in Sweden, needed decision-support tools that would improve the emergency response of its 18 call centers. Global geospatial software technology company, Carmenta provided the solution - a multi-user map display system called ResQMap designed for organizations involved in emergency response in areas of public safety and national security. Consistently updated NAVTEQ data has given Carmenta ResQMap customer, SOS Alarm better geographic coverage for its emergency command and control centers.
